Almost Happy New Year!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  We want to thank all of you who donated items to Pay it Forward this past year.  You have made a difference in the lives of so many.  We look forward to helping more over the course of this next year and will definitely need your help!!

Now is a great time to take advantage of christmas clearance sales on things such as mens/womens gift sets, hats, gloves, scarves, inexpensive children's toys, socks, blankets/throws, etc.  There are great sales already starting and they'll get better!  These are just some of the items we'll be stockpiling for next year.

Our stocks are pretty low right now on the basic items we hand out at the Rigby Senior Center.  We'll probably wait until closer to the end of the month to go giving us as much time as possible to rebuild our stock.  We continue to need these items:

basic cleaning supplies
dish soap
plastic wrap/foil/zip style bags
diapers
wipes
women's feminine products (particularly pads)
razors
body wash
shampoo/conditioner
toothpaste/brushes
denture cream/cleaner
lotions
kleenex

fabric softeners

We also have families with cats and dogs.

In looking to the future, we'll put together easter baskets for families with young children in the Spring so items such as candy, small toys, color books, etc would be very much appreciated.

Also, any winter wear that still has some good wear in it we'll collect anytime to hand out in the fall.  Also, we'll hand out school supplies in August.  We'll post specifics the closer it gets but this is just to give everyone something to think about.

Our drop off locations are the Rigby Library and Central Fire Department.  As always, you can leave a post here and we'll pick up your items.

As always, we appreciate any and all you have to give.  We are truly blessed to be able to help in our community and hope to be able to for years to come.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!

It's been awhile since we posted last.  It's been a busy fall for everyone I'm sure.

We have been so blessed with wonderful donations for the folks who visit us as the Rigby Senior Center each month!  The families are so grateful for all they receive!

We are trying to step it up a little for Christmas.  We have already stocked up on some items but cold really benefit from the following:

toilet paper (can you ever have enough?!)

If you would like boxes of fruits (like apples/oranges, bags of clementines) would also be wonderful. Our drop off places are still the Rigby City Library and the Central Fire Dept.  You can also leave a message here on the blog too!

Garden Produce

What We Did Wednesday, August 13 2014...

We handed out school supplies!!!  A great big THANK YOU to those who came and helped us!!

We were able to help approximately 60 children with school supplies donated by all of you here in Jefferson County.  It was a wonderful day and the family's were so grateful. 

Thanks again to everyone who donated supplies, money, time, and everything else to make this such a success.  We look forward to doing it again next year!!

Need Help..... Please!!!

We are in desperate need of donations!!!  Our supplies are basically gone after being at the Senior Center today.  There were more families than we've ever helped.  Here's what we need if you can help:

$$$ donations (we coupon and get great deals)
people willing to donate coupons or print for us

Items:
Baby needs:  diapers - all sizes, baby wipes, formula, baby foods, etc.
Paper products:  toilet paper (4 packs are great but we'll divide up larger quantities), paper towels, plastic wrap, foil, zip style bags (all sizes), Kleenex, cleaning wipes, etc.
feminine products - all types not brand specific
cleaning supplies:  dish soap, dishwasher soap, cleanser, all purpose cleaners
Laundry supplies:  detergent, bleach, fabric softeners (both kinds)
Personal hygiene:  deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouth rinses (only if a great price), denture cream/cleaners, body washes (we have a good supply of bar soaps), lotions (only if a great price), liquid soap, etc.

We are also going to be giving out school supplies on Wednesday, Aug 13th.  Parents should bring their children along with their supply lists to the Senior Center starting at 10am.  The reason we suggest bringing children is because they like to shop too!!   The supply list is required. 

I'll try and post the great deals on school supplies on Mondays.  Right now great deals are at Office Max, Walgreens, ShopKo and Target.  I have an earlier post indicating basically what the children  will need.

Drop Off Locations

We are so grateful to the Central Fire Department in Rigby for being a drop off location for donations!  Also, you can email us at jeffersoncountypayitforward@gmail.com and we'll be happy to pick up donations from you!  We're hoping for other donation drop off locations in the future.

The Bread Guy

This is a fantastic deal!!  I visited the "bread guy" on Tuesday and got 6 pkgs of flat bread, 10 bagels, 12 loaves of bread (variety of flavors), 2 hot dog buns all for $12!!  The price is $4 a flat or .50 each.  All bread is dated at least 7 days out and is overstock.  The "bread guy" is contracted to buy what the stores don't.  This isn't day old product.  The product is Great Grains and is my favorite!!  His name is Levi Burbank, 226 N 4500 E, 208-949-9939.  You can call or text.  If he can't sell it it goes to the pig farmers and he makes nothing.  He's doing his best to support his family.  Let's support him!!

School Supply Donations

We are now accepting school supply donations.  We'll deliver to the senior center in August.  You can go to the district website www.sd251.org click schools and then under each school their supply lists are posted.  I know, one page dedicated to supply lists would have been much easier!!!

Right now Target, Shopko, Staples, and Office Depot/Max are having some fabulous sales!  We'll update the blog with great deals as soon as we find out about them.

UPDATE!!!  Starting Sunday July 20th WalGreens will have backpacks for 2.99!!!

The people in our community really appreciate all the help they can get!!!

Welcome to Jefferson County Pay it Forward!  We are a group of gals just trying to make a difference in our community. We started at the first of this year helping to provide non food items to needy family's.  We are at the Rigby Senior Center on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 10am with items that have been donated to our cause or items we have couponed for.  Hopefully we're making a difference.  You can too!!  We'd greatly appreciate any items you have (food or non food), or coupons, or money donations that we can then use our coupons for!!  Here is a list for you:
